Oh yeah…

Date February 7, 2007

…it’s weird being at a conference by yourself, with like 1500 other people. During McLaren’s session, I asked God to help me connect with who I should connect with. So I walk out of the session at the end, and almost bump into Bob Hyatt. We’re having coffee on Friday. God is good!

Elaine and I are in San Diego for a few days…me to attend the National Pastor’s Convention, E to celebrate her birthday early by reading and relaxing and sitting by the pool.
I’ll try to blog some about what I’m hearing and thinking.

Christmas giving

Date December 3, 2006

Tonight we went out with Marta and Andy: great Italian food, a serendipitous meeting with Wendy Clark Goodwin (who invited us to a concert she was giving at Borders…you can hear them yourself at NFC Dec. 17)…but most of all, outstanding conversation.

Barclay Press #9

Date September 14, 2006

I’m sad that I saw my children today (awake) for [...]

Barclay Press #7

Date September 11, 2006

Here’s a list of topics I considered writing about, but rejected for lack of anything worthwhile coming together into coherent sentences: 9/11, StrengthsFinder, “an open letter from a pastor to churches everywhere”, why I’m a Quaker, and whether the Oregon Ducks will be able to play their “A” game and beat the Sooners on Saturday.
Instead, [...]

Barclay Press #6

Date September 11, 2006

Usually, I write these posts for Barclay Press the night before. But last night, a phone call took me to the hospital. So I write this without much to look back upon, and a whole day ahead.
As our youngest was getting ready for bed last night, Elaine told me she had been up early that [...]

I must say…

…that I am not a political conservative, if this video defines conservatism. I just felt it was time to admit that publicly.
